Louise RVN

Louise qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1998 and joined Amical in 2001. She has a special interest in canine behaviour and also advises clients on the pets travel scheme. Louise is also responsible for processing our pet insurance claims.

Laura Dickens RVN

I started working at Amical in December 2006 and I qualified in 2008. Since then, I have held a range of positions within the Practice.

So far, I have been the clinical coach to several students and had the pleasure to see them qualify into Registered Veterinary Nurses.

I enjoy looking after wildlife and I have a huge soft spot for geriatric patients.

I am currently studying for a Degree in Environmental Science which is a passion of mine. In my spare time (limited mind you!) I like to volunteer for our local museum Fossils Galore, garden and do crafting, especially cross-stitching.

Michaela Henson RVN

Michaela joined Amical in 2010 as a pre-student veterinary nurse and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2014. She especially enjoys nursing our hospital inpatients and in the future would like to further her training in intensive nursing.

Whilst working at Amical, Michaela has rescued three cats (Maisy, Henry and Tilly) who she absolutely adores.

Samantha Denton RVN

I joined Amical in 2016 as a SVN and I qualified in 2021.

I have a soft spot for geriatrics; in particular Shar Pei and GSD breeds, having always owned one or the other (or both!). I currently also own a one-eyed Moggie that I rescued from Amical as a kitten.

I have a keen interest in nutrition and canine psychology and would like to further my anaesthesia knowledge as this is a nursing area that I really enjoy.

Sophie Negus – Veterinary Assistant

Sophie joined Amical in April 2021 after working in the Zoological industry for several years. She is looking forward to continuing her learning and being able to apply her skills to a new section of the animal world.

Sophie enjoys village life with her husband and two rescues, Bonnie the dog and Norbert the leopard gecko. In her spare time she is an avid scuba diver and is hoping to soon become a Dive Master.
